Hugs & Kisses

Good morning, Steph here using Marion, a stamp was created by Terra Bidlespacher.

It's never too early to create cards for upcoming holidays because holidays seem to creep up on us.  I found this paper in my stash and knew it would work well with the Marion Stamp.  She's a little saucy with those big eyes don't you think!

I lightly colored her with Copic Markers, then added gold Spica pen to her fins because I wanted a little shimmer.   I then added a touch of red to her eyes and nails.

I chose to cut Marion out and place her on a background created with Spellbinders Oval dies.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Stamp: Kat Stamps
Markers: Copic Markers, Spica Pen
Dies: Spellbinders

Werewolf by Rossana Castellino, Part 2

Time for another Halloween card using the Queen Kat Design stamped image called Werewolf by artist Rossana Castellino.  This time I used her on a Z-Fold card with some Halloween patterned paper from Carol Lee Creations.
AND it's time for another installment in the life of our pretty Werewolf as it waxes and wanes along with the moon:

"She thought she needed some in-depth research into the human psyche and all its twists and turns, so she enrolled in a night class in philosophy.  She wan't stupid or anything, just not in tune with college life and the cruelty of a professor who had been turned down for tenure (again) earlier that fateful day.

When she didn't answer his question to his satisfaction, he tore into her in front of the whole class.  "Think, damn it," he cried in uncontrolled fury.  "What would it take to make you use that brain of yours and think?"

It wouldn't have been so bad if he hadn't also made a sarcastic remark regarding her unusually thick and abundant hair (especially on her long thin legs).  She left in tears, which soon turned to snarls in the light of the full moon.

As he was leaving the campus, she confronted him and it was her turn to tear into him...literally.  As she was gnawing at what little was left of him, she couldn't help but think of her former professor with a satisfied little smile as she finally had an answer for the question he had posed to her in class earlier.  "You, professor, have made me think.  You were excellent food for thought."

I hope you enjoyed my story and are inspired by my Z-Fold card.  You can find this pretty Werewolf stamp by artist Rossana Castellino at the QKD Shop.  Do you want a good reason to buy some Halloween stamps there?  Check out the Facebook Page and sign up for our customer blog hop, The Thirteen Days of Halloween.

122 Days until Christmas!

Are you counting down until Christmas?  I have to, because I send out handmade cards to the people on my mailing list!So when I was entertaining my granddaughters, Bella and Christina, we sat at the card table, Copics in hand, and each made a Christmas card, using a QKD stamped image from artist Che Gilson called Peppermint Girl.

Here's my 4 year old's card. I think Bella did a great job on using my treasured Copics, don't you? She even spelled her name on the front of the card. I like the way she framed the image with patterned paper. That tiny bow in the corner just makes the card,

Next up is my new granddaughter's card. Nina is eight years old, and loves to scrapbook (so does her mommy, that's why I love her so much). Both girls used DCWV Holiday card bases.

I made my card using a card base from the same DCWV set. After coloring her, I placed her on my card and just threw everything but the kitchen sink onto it. Some pearls, snowflakes, candy mints stickers, diecut evergreens, candy cane border stickers, and a metal sentiment charm., But I like it!!! Hope you do too!

It's never too early to start making your Christmas cards.  You can find lots of Christmas images at the Shoppe.  If you want to see more cards using CHe's stamps, check out the Castle Playground, where her art is showcased on cards by other DT members.

Little Treasures Gift Bag

Good morning,Steph here and I'm using the Swashbuckler stamp by Christina Lynn Myers.

I recently found these little glossy bags in my stash and thought this image was a perfect fit for the bag. The bag may be small, but think of all the little treasures you can put in it.

Using Ranger Alcohol Inks, I inked up the bag, including the sides. Alcohol Inks work great on glossy paper and this bag really loved them. I stamped my image and colored her with Copic Markers. Then I cut her out, but before placing her on the bag, I added some Glossy Accents to the skull, her necklace and her hair ribbons. I added the image to the bag with foam adhesives so she'd stand out.

It's a little hard to tell, but I also used Alcohol Inks on the tissue paper I put inside the bags.   Now off to put some treasures in the bags.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cute Pixie by Terrell Dorfeo -- a fun project to try

Cute Pixie

Terrell Dorfeo does it once again with this adorable Pixie stamp.  She is actually a small elf.  Just look at those adorable ears!

I purchased a small clipboard from my local office supply store for $2.00.  I sanded the existing pattern off of it, then using E6000 glue adhered a base of red paper over the existing clipboard.  I used my craft knife to trim it close.

Then I sanded the piece so the edges were smooth.  Then I used my tea dye distress ink and sponged the edges.  The small note pad is actually a mini composition book I measured, creased and clipped to the front.  The image was then stamped onto X-press It card stock in memento tuxedo black ink and colored with my copic markers.

Queen Kat has wonderful stamps, great ideas and projects and so much more.  Please go check her store out by clicking this link.

Stamp Happy be a blessing!!

Love at First Bite

As Halloween approaches, I am gearing up for the holiday with a stack of newly-made cards. Today's card uses a QKD image called Werewolf by artist Rossana Castellino. She has a story to tell...
"They met at the animal shelter. She stumbled against him, and his skin smelled so heavenly she had to take just a little nip. It was love at first bite. Although all their dates were scheduled around the cycle of the moon, their relationship bloomed. Until...
He said it was a guys' night out, which was fine with her, as the moon was waxing full and she had more basic needs to fulfill. So when she came face to face with the love of her life while she was hunting late that eventful night, she was torn between her desire for him as a lover, and her desire for him as, well, dinner. Until...
She saw what, or rather who, had brought him out into the forest. She was a tiny thing, big blue eyes and hair that shone in the full moon. Such a pity to have to tear into her about property ownership. When she was finished with the poor human, she turned her attention on her lover. As you can see by my card, there wasn't much left of him by the time her anger had abated and her hunger sated. Just a small bone to remember him by. Ah, well, all is fair in love and werewolves!"

Aquamarine

Hi guys.  Emily here with another project using the new Aquamarine Tide stamp by Renee LaVoie.  I love her stamps.  They are always so beautiful.  This time I changed it up a little and fussy cut out the mermaid and the two little sea turtles.  I did add three seashells from another stamp set just to set the background.  I colored her with BIC Markers and added some Sakura Glitter Pens for accent.  I used a piece of very thin mulberry paper for the background because to me it looked like water.  I mounted it all on a Crumb Cake card base.  I hope you all enjoy this project and will take a look over on Queen Kat Designs for some of the best stamps around.

Found Treasures

Good morning, Steph here with Swashbuckler by Christina Lynn Myers.  This Gal would make anyone's head turn.

I created a sea background of alcohol inks on glossy cardstock trying to convey a sense of movement in the background.  I cut the treasure chest with my Cricut and then inked the edges to "age" the chest.  I colored the stamped image with Copic Markers and then cut her out and placed her on top of the chest.

Doesn't it appear as if this Gal has found a wonderful treasure in this chest?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Eye on Halloween

Every time EYE stamp and color this faboo QKD image by Nora Blansett, EYE come up with more and more EYE-deas to make cards with them!!
Today EYE used some Neenah paper for the background.  It had a pre-printed sentiment that EYE love from Oliver Wendell Holmes: "One's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions."  Just a little Halloween inspiration for all you crafters out there!
For the card, EYE colored my Vampire Bat Eye image with my Copics and fussy-cut it out. EYE adhered it on an orange circle to make it pop.  A strip of K & Co. Border embellishment and a handmade flower finish off my card (oh, EYE forgot the strips of adhesive-backed red pearls.
That's it for today, just a simply made card with a lot of EYE-appeal!! LOL
Nora has a lot of sweet images in the Queen Kat Designs Shoppe--go check them out!!

Gargoyle Girl

Hello my crafty friends.  I hope you are all enjoying your day.  Today I have a card to share with you using a stamp from Queen Kat Designs, where as most of you know, I am on their Design Team.  What a thrill this ride has been.  It has taken me out of my comfort zone by forcing me to use stamps that I normally wouldn't even think of using.  It has been fun to see where my ideas take me.  I haven't always been extremely happy with the finished products, but I am proud of the fact that I have tried to think outside the box.

That is exactly what I have done with this card.  It is wwwaaayyy outside my normal creative box.    This stamp is from Terra Bidlespacher and is called Gargoyle.  I love this little stamp.  She is my first gargoyle and I don't see her being my last. For me, working with these images are rather hard.  I usually do cute or sweet cards, even my masculine cards could be considered cute.  So, to try and go Goth, Emo, or just plain out there is a challenge.  But, I have enjoyed stretching my creative ability.  So, without further ado, here she is..

I call this one "Freak".  I used glitter pens to color her in.  I used a Tiki Hut Tan BIC marker to color her skin but it came out looking kinda greenish.  I hand drew the wall background and then added some graffiti to it.  I actually just kept adding embellishments until I thought it looked ok.  I added a stick pen to the big flower and some metallic nail heads to the corners.  Glossy Accents highlight the wall.  I think she turned out pretty "cute"..lol

Thanks for stopping in today.  And don't forget about the October 13 Days of Halloween blog hop over on QKD.  God bless you.

Thinking of you Marion

Good morning, Steph here with a stamp from Terra Bidlespacher.  Her name is Marion and I love that she is tucked into the surrounding greenery.

This stamp is a little bit larger and lend itself well to a square shape.  I colored her with Copic Markers and used some light blue for the surrounding sea. Doesn't she look like she could be a postage stamp?

Using Spellbinders dies, I cut the image into a square and cut the background from a postage die - love the added texture this gives my card.

I created a 3" x 3" card from brown cardstock and added my postage stamped image on top.  I'm thinking this would be a great little "thinking of you card".

Thanks for stopping by today.

Vampire Bat Eyes

Queen Kat Designs is releasing a fun bunch of Halloween stamps this month so you can get a head start on your spooky cards.  This one is called "Vampire Bat Eye" by artist Nora Blansett.  Bats are definitely part of the spooky fun of Halloween.

Why do so many people like to be scared?  Scary movies, Stephen King books, practical jokes, haunted houses, campfire stories?  I'm getting to the point where I won't even watch a new horror movie anymore.  Getting old?  Sure, but more than that, my imagination has grown in leaps and bounds and my imagination can take any movie or book far beyond where Hollywood and authors stop.

Here, in the safety of my craft room, I stamped my Vampire Bat Eyes images with colored ink, green, purple and orange ink be exact, and filled in with black Copic ink.  I added a bit of white gel ink and some Liquid Glass to each bat eye.  Then I used another set of the same stamps in the same colors to give them a 3D feel, adhering just the eyeball to the card base.

I used Halloween patterned paper from a DCWV paper stack that included the sentiment.  After that, it was just a matter of embellishing with black rub-on swirls, a few jewels and some inked edges.

So, have you started your Halloween cards yet?  When you do, be sure to check out the SHOPPE for the newest and cutest, the funkiest and furriest, the spookiest and sexiest Halloween rubber stamps this year!

Hello there.  I finally have been able to complete and post my card for Queen Kat Designs that should have been posted on Saturday.  It's been a little rough here this past week.

For this card I used a new stamp by Renee Lavoie.  I love her stamps.  She has the best mermaids.  This one is called Aquamarine Tide.  I love the little sea turtles that are hanging around her.

I stamped her with Versamark and embossed in black.  I used Spectrum Noir pens to color her in, then used some Distress Inks to make water.  She was alot of fun to color and I think she came out beautifully.  A few buttons and a little ribbon and she was complete.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will jump on over to Queen Kat Designs and look at all the beautiful stamps by some really talented artist.
